Premier Race Days at the Mackay Turf Club

Every year, the Mackay Turf Club sees the annual running of the Amateurs Race Day, Mackay Cup, NQ Classic Derby Day and Melbourne Cup

These race days are the premium events on our calendar and should not be missed. All provide an excellent fun day of racing for everyone.

AMATEURS RACE DAY

A huge day of racing is the TAB Amateurs Race Day. The Amateurs event is always an event pleaser.

MACKAY CUP

The most hotly contested local race is the Mackay Cup. Attracting thousands of race goers, Mackay Cup Day proves to be one of the biggest race days of the year with seven local races.

NQ CLASSIC DERBY DAY

A new favourite in the spring racing carnival is NQ Derby Day. Attracting thousands of race goers from all over Qld, this proves to be a great day out for everyone. With seven local races, Fashions on the Field and entertainment, it really is a sensational spring racing event.

MELBOURNE CUP RACE DAY

Melbourne Cup at Ooralea Race Course is a not to be missed event. Thousands of race enthusiasts flock to the race course for a mid week break, complete with local races, Fashion on the Field, quality beverages, and entertainment. Melbourne Cup is the ultimate mid week race and always promises to deliver.

LUKE GEIGER DUO – playing after the last race until 7pm.

GENERAL ENTRY – No General Admission Tickets are available at this time due to COVID restrictions and the number of patrons allowed in each area.

GATES OPEN 11.30am all Race Days except for 10.30am on Melbourne Cup Day

No buses to MOJOs or photobooth are operating currently due to COVID restrictions.
